2,000 people from the garbage dump communities received amazing blessings in April.

Meet Ashley Calel

Little Ashley is a cute, smiling 5-year-old girl who loves to go to our program to learn about Jesus and learn new things.

"Although very small, Ashley is very intelligent. She likes to play and collaborate with the other children and learns the new lessons very quickly" says Veronica - a volunteer teacher.

Ashley's been suffering from asthma since she was a year and a half old. Her parents work very hard to meet the needs of Ashley and her other two siblings. However, due to the very difficult economic situation that many families live in Guatemala, the basics are not always assured.

Not only one, but all of them!

Ashley and her family live in one of Guatemala City's poorest and unsafe areas a few blocks away from the garbage dump. Ashley and 200 more children are part of the after-school program we have with our partners Manantial de Vida. The impact we have on 4 communities is close to 2,000 people among children and their families.

These families work hard to survive in a system that ignores and rejects them. Some pick up and recycle trash, others sell small items (such as candy or gum) on city streets. A few of them have a low-paid work in companies that pay them the minimum.

Only with God's love, grace and favor through people like you, we can provide this population of vulnerable children and their families with:

  • Teachings about Jesus

  • Nutritious lunches

  • And during the pandemic, bags of food

The surprising Blessing!

Through one of our generous donors who prefers to remain anonymous, we have equipped with new appliances to Manantial de Vida - our partner in the garbage dump communities - to make our call to serve them more efficient.

Today, we can store, prepare and deliver a lot more nutrious lunches to the children and their families from Monday to Saturday and healthy snacks during our activities with the kids.

Our capacity to take care of more children has increased exponentialy. We can serve the whole community (2,000 people) in a faster a better way now!

These are the items with our kids were amazingly blessed:

  • Refrigerator

  • Freezer

  • Stove

  • Microwave

  • Computers

  • and more…

We are giving the children means to live a more dignified life today, and also preparing them so that they can change their reality and be members that add value to Guatemalan society.

When you decide to join what God is doing and help us recognize, reach, and reclaim the lives of the most vulnerable children in Guatemala, great things happen in their lives, but also in ours.

"Since I decided to serve God with my time and money, I have found a real MEANINGFUL life” Daniel Díaz - G2G staff
